Dear Little Girl,
Congratulations, you are now one week old. You have had quite a week. We left the hospital on Tuesday and went to the photo studio to have your portrait taken. Then we went down to the courthouse to get your passport and then for a visit to your Great Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's house. That night I just couldn't put you down, and we fell asleep in bed with mommy. She woke you and took a picture. It is one of my favorites. The next morning I had to get up early and leave for the airport. I left your mommy in tears, because she was concerned that you weren't eating so well. She had not had much sleep either. Grandma Sibert came to the rescue and helped your mommy catch up on some sleep so that she would feel better. I was such a mess leaving that I let Aunt Caree and Uncle Andy take me to the wrong airport. Luckily, I was able to take a train across Chicago and arrived at O'hare in plenty of time. Thursday at the doctor's office you checked out good and Dr. Ricketts said that you difintely won his cutest baby award...as if there was any doubt. He told your mommy about a device that would help you eat better and after that you really took off. Mommy says now you eat so much. You got a lot of growing to do so that is okay. Last night you went on a boat ride with Grandma and Grandpa Anderson, and you helped Grandpa steer the boat. Today was your one week birthday and Aunt Caree threw you a party. Okay, it was probably more for your mommy, but it was all because of you, and you were definitly the main attraction. You looked so pretty in your little white dress that mommy picked out for you to come home from the hospital. Mommy was just telling me how impressed she was that you can already role onto your side. I told mommy that research indicates that side-lying in the fetal position was the healthiest way to sleep and that you are a smart little girl and probably already knew that. Lillyonna, you are such a perfect little gift for your mommy and me. The Bible says it only took God one week to create everything in the universe. On the seventh day God rested. Apparently you wanted to follow in God's footsteps because mommy said that is what you did mostly on your seventh day as well. Lillyonna, Mommy and Daddee really hope and pray that you will grow up to always follow in God's footsteps and let Him guide you everystep of the way. We will do our best to train you to be like Jesus, but to follow Him is a choice that you will someday make on your own. That will be an exciting day that I am looking forward to. We will probably make some mistakes along the way in how we raise you, but always know that we want what we feel is best for you. I hope you will forgive our shortcomings and learn to love us through them. Your are truly an amazing baby. Mommy really wanted a little girl she could dress up cute...I think she got way more than she ever could have imagined. When I see all these cute photos of you, I can't help but think God has something in store very special for you. I know you are going to have a fun time growing up with the mommy that you have...she is an amazing lady. Well Little Girl, I need to get back to my school work. Unfortunately, you will probably hear that quite a bit over the next couple of years, but I will do my best to spend as much time with you and Mommy as I possibly can. I love you so much and just wanted to wish you a happy one week bithday.
